Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2021, Romania's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 4.4% compared to 2020, reaching 8.9%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 9.1%.

Romania ranks 12th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 44.5% (from 6.2% in 2016).
