Population change - Demographic balance and crude rates at national level

In 1997, Slovakia's population change increased by 2.1% compared to 1996, reaching 9.7.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 10.1.

Slovakia ranks 17th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 4.0% (from 10.1 in 1992).
