Life expectancy by age and sex

In 2024, Slovakia's life expectancy by age and sex increased by 0.3% compared to 2023, reaching 78.4.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 81.5.

Slovakia ranks 22nd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 0.8% (from 77.8 in 2019).
