Life expectancy by age and sex

In 1989, Slovakia's life expectancy by age and sex decreased by 0.1% compared to 1988, reaching 75.6.

Slovakia ranks 16th out of 21 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 0.7% (from 75.1 in 1984).
