In 1991, Slovakia's population on 1 january by age group and sex increased by 2.8% compared to 1990, reaching 109,653.

Slovakia ranks 18th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 19.2% (from 92,011 in 1986).
