Population change - Demographic balance and crude rates at national level

In 2007, Spain's population change increased by 2.4% compared to 2006, reaching 8.5.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 9.7.

Spain ranks 21st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 3.4% (from 8.8 in 2002).
