In 1982, Spain's fertility indicators decreased by 4.9% compared to 1981, reaching 1.94.

Spain ranks 11th out of 21 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 26.8% (from 2.65 in 1977).
