Population change - Demographic balance and crude rates at national level

In 2022, Sweden's population change increased by 2.3% compared to 2021, reaching 9.0.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 11.5.

Sweden ranks 23rd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 1.1% (from 9.1 in 2017).
