At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2023, Austria's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 14.1% compared to 2022, reaching 17.0%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 16.6%.

Austria ranks 13th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 22.3% (from 13.9% in 2018).
