In 2023, Hungary's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 23.0% compared to 2022, reaching 16.6%.
The figure is in line with the EU-27 average of 16.6%.
Hungary ranks 16th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.
Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 69.4% (from 9.8% in 2018).
