Distribution of population by tenure status, type of household and income group

In 2025, Austria's distribution of population by tenure status, type of household and income group decreased by 0.6% compared to 2024, reaching 54.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 68.5%.

Austria ranks 26th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 2.0% (from 55.3% in 2020).
