Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2013, Austria's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 2.2% compared to 2012, reaching 68.9%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 26.8%.

Austria ranks 1st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 4.6% (from 65.9% in 2008).
