Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2009, Austria's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 16.9% compared to 2008, reaching 11.2%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 4.9%.

Austria ranks 1st out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 146.6% (from 4.5% in 2004).
