At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2023, Belgium's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 0.7% compared to 2022, reaching 13.7%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 19.5%.

Belgium ranks 23rd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 31.8% (from 20.1% in 2018).
