At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2024, Belgium's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 5.1% compared to 2023, reaching 14.4%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 19.3%.

Belgium ranks 19th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 24.2% (from 19.0% in 2019).
