At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2023, Germany's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 6.7% compared to 2022, reaching 14.0%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 19.5%.

Germany ranks 22nd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 3.4% (from 14.5% in 2018).
