Employment rates by citizenship

In 2024, Belgium's employment rates by citizenship increased by 0.4% compared to 2023, reaching 70.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 75.3%.

Belgium ranks 27th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 1.9% (from 68.9% in 2019).
