Employment rates by citizenship

In 2025, Belgium's employment rates by citizenship increased by 0.6% compared to 2024, reaching 70.6%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 75.4%.

Belgium ranks 27th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 3.2% (from 68.4% in 2020).
