Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2017, Belgium's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 4.5% compared to 2016, reaching 9.1%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 18.4%.

Belgium ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 28.9% (from 7.1% in 2012).
