Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2017, Germany's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 3.9% compared to 2016, reaching 15.5%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 18.4%.

Germany ranks 17th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 14.2% (from 13.5% in 2012).
