Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2020, Belgium's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 30.9% compared to 2019, reaching 13.0%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 22.0%.

Belgium ranks 25th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 61.3% (from 8.1% in 2015).
