Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2020, Germany's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 10.6% compared to 2019, reaching 19.1%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 22.0%.

Germany ranks 17th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 28.1% (from 14.9% in 2015).
