Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2021, Belgium's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 0.1% compared to 2020, reaching 13.0%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 21.9%.

Belgium ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 48.9% (from 8.7% in 2016).
