Population on 1 January by age group and sex

In 1990, Bulgaria's population on 1 january by age group and sex increased by 1.5% compared to 1989, reaching 186,795.

Bulgaria ranks 15th out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 8.5% (from 172,185 in 1985).
