Population on 1 January by age group and sex

In 1991, Bulgaria's population on 1 january by age group and sex increased by 3.6% compared to 1990, reaching 193,592.

Bulgaria ranks 15th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 16.9% (from 165,598 in 1986).
