Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2018, Bulgaria's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 11.0% compared to 2017, reaching 8.1%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 8.3%.

Bulgaria ranks 7th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 37.2% (from 5.9% in 2013).
