Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2018, Germany's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 13.0% compared to 2017, reaching 7.9%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 8.3%.

Germany ranks 9th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 8.8% (from 7.3% in 2013).
