In 2022, Bulgaria's police-recorded offences by offence category increased by 5.0% compared to 2021, reaching 4,340.

Bulgaria ranks 18th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 50.9% (from 8,847 in 2017).
