In 2021, Bulgaria's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 22.6% compared to 2020, reaching 4,134.

Bulgaria ranks 18th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 59.3% (from 10,161 in 2016).
