Unemployment by sex and age - annual data

In 2025, Bulgaria's unemployment by sex and age increased by 6.5% compared to 2024, reaching 13.1%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 15.2%.

Bulgaria ranks 19th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 25.1% (from 17.5% in 2020).
