Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2009, Croatia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 23.1% compared to 2008, reaching 47.9%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 75.7%.

Croatia ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 19.7% (from 40.0% in 2004).
