In 2017, Cyprus's police-recorded offences by offence category increased by 31.2% compared to 2016, reaching 959.

Cyprus ranks 27th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 38.8% (from 1,567 in 2012).
