Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2007, Cyprus's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data decreased by 7.2% compared to 2006, reaching 55.7%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 62.4%.

Cyprus ranks 10th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 9.1% (from 61.3% in 2002).
