Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2017, Cyprus's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 3.8% compared to 2016, reaching 8.9%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 31.1%.

Cyprus ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 80.9% (from 4.9% in 2012).
