Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2022, Czechia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 4.4% compared to 2021, reaching 42.5%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 82.4%.

Czechia ranks 21st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 25.7% (from 33.8% in 2017).
