Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2022, Slovakia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data decreased by 4.0% compared to 2021, reaching 57.8%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 82.4%.

Slovakia ranks 14th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 12.5% (from 51.4% in 2017).
