Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2021, Czechia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 10.3% compared to 2020, reaching 40.7%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 86.7%.

Czechia ranks 22nd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 12.4% (from 36.2% in 2016).
