Life expectancy by age and sex

In 2023, Czechia's life expectancy by age and sex increased by 1.2% compared to 2022, reaching 82.9.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 84.0.

Czechia ranks 19th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 1.1% (from 82.0 in 2018).
