Life expectancy by age and sex

In 2024, Czechia's life expectancy by age and sex increased by 0.1% compared to 2023, reaching 83.0.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 84.1.

Czechia ranks 19th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 1.0% (from 82.2 in 2019).
