Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2005, Denmark's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data decreased by 14.7% compared to 2004, reaching 39.4%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 67.2%.

Denmark ranks 17th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 26.5% (from 53.6% in 2000).
