Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2024, Denmark's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data decreased by 7.6% compared to 2023, reaching 30.5%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 80.7%.

Denmark ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 20.4% (from 38.3% in 2019).
