Life expectancy by age and sex

In 2024, Denmark's life expectancy by age and sex increased by 0.2% compared to 2023, reaching 83.9.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 84.1.

Denmark ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 0.5% (from 83.5 in 2019).
