Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2021, Estonia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data decreased by 3.7% compared to 2020, reaching 18.4%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 86.7%.

Estonia ranks 27th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 80.4% (from 10.2% in 2016).
