Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2022, Estonia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 4.3% compared to 2021, reaching 19.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 82.4%.

Estonia ranks 27th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 104.3% (from 9.4% in 2017).
