Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2023, Estonia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 5.2% compared to 2022, reaching 20.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 80.5%.

Estonia ranks 27th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 137.6% (from 8.5% in 2018).
