Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2024, Estonia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 16.3% compared to 2023, reaching 23.5%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 80.7%.

Estonia ranks 27th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 161.1% (from 9.0% in 2019).
