Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2025, Estonia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 2.6% compared to 2024, reaching 24.1%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 81.7%.

Estonia ranks 27th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 26.2% (from 19.1% in 2020).
