In 2018, France's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 2.2% compared to 2017, reaching 1,421,318.

France ranks 1st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 2.3% (from 1,390,001 in 2013).
