At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2022, Germany's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 8.5% compared to 2021, reaching 15.0%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 19.4%.

Germany ranks 19th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 1.3% (from 15.2% in 2017).
