At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2021, Germany's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 6.5% compared to 2020, reaching 16.4%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 19.6%.

Germany ranks 17th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 6.5% (from 15.4% in 2016).
